WHAT WILL YOU TYPICALLY LEARN IN A KUNG FU CLASS
Kung Fu Clubs and Kung Fu instructors grade students based on age, experience, knowledge and the type of Kung Fu style. Students learn and practice a range of Kung Fu techniques using forms (drill exercises). Some Kung Fu clubs will also offer sparing.
Learn how to “punch” Kung Fu style from single punches to complex combinations.
In Kung Fu classes you will also learn "Break Grabs" techniques to break free if an opponents attempts to grab you using leverage with this technique even a small person can free themselves from the grasp of a larger person.
A Kung Fu class will typically cover "Covering up" and "Blocking" basic defensive skills that protect the body from a punch or strike.
Learn how to "dodge" an opponents punch or strike and counter attack. Beginners classes teach basic Dodging techniques, moving out of the way of an opponents blow. Dodging allows a smaller person to defeat a larger person, utilising momentum to increase the impact a counter punch or strike.
"Kicking" is an effective self defence technique. Students learn KungFu "kicks" from simple kicks to spinning kicks.
Developing "stances" all taught to improve strength and balance when dealing with an opponent.
Kung Fu classes improve self confidence and self esteem, with emphasis on improved concentration and focus, stress reduction and relaxation, motivation and positive attitude towards life.
